Это страшное слово – двоедушие. Что имеет в виду апостол? Ведь Господь дал каждому из нас только одну душу, которая нас составляет. А дело все в том, как мы себя порою лицемерно ведем, даже будучи христианами. Как в те далекие времена, когда пророк под водительством Духа Божия писал эти строки, так и в наше время – ничто не изменилось в природе человеческой! Клянемся Богу в любви и верности – и тут же в мирской суете небрежем о нем, не находя времени ни поклониться Ему,  ни прославить Его толком. Говорим красивые слова о любви и добродетели, но не делаем ничего доброго из расположения сердца. В лучшем случае сделаем пару – тройку «добрых дел» и то только в том случае, если это совпадает с нашими личными интересами. Не меняя характер внутренне, внешне сколько угодно разглагольствуем по Слову, научая других и приводя красивые примеры из Библии, но для других… Ну и так, «по мелочи» - говорим друг другу ложь, совлекшись в ветхого человека, где-то едем на характере и своеволии, не принимая интересы других во внимание и так далее…

Все это, Отец Небесный, в полной мере относится  и ко мне и даже ещё больше. Поэтому я прошу Тебя, Дух Святой, именно помочь мне не только в осознании пути неправедного, могущего меня завести в дебри непослушания и своеволия, но и вывести из подобных дел. Чтобы именно через изменение сердца моего я освобождался от всего того, что перечислено и ещё много от чего неправильного. Если чтить Тебя, Отец – так чтить всем, что есть у меня – так пусть будет. Если я люблю Тебя, мой Господь – так вопреки всякой суете и лености мирской будет поклонение в моей жизни. Не хочу пустой и холостой болтовни и небрежения о Тебе в пустопорожней же суете. Я  - Твой поклонник истинный – прими хвалу моего сердца!

This is a terrible word – duplicity. What does the Apostle mean? After all, the Lord has given each of us only one soul, which is us. It's all about how we sometimes behave hypocritically, even as Christians. As in those distant times when the prophet wrote these lines under the guidance of the spirit of God, so in our time – nothing has changed in human nature! We swear to God in love and fidelity – and then in the worldly bustle we neglect him, not finding time to worship Him or to glorify him properly. We say beautiful words about love and virtue,but we do not do anything good from the heart. In the best case, we will do a couple of "good deeds" and then only if it coincides with our personal interests. Without changing the character internally, outwardly as much as we want to rant on the Word, teaching others and giving beautiful examples from the Bible, but for others... Well, "for small things" - we tell each other lies, having deceived ourselves into an old man, somewhere we go on character and self-will, not taking the interests of others into account, and so on…

All this, heavenly Father, fully applies to me and even more. Therefore, I ask You, the Holy Spirit, to help me not only in understanding the path of unrighteousness, which can lead me into the wilds of disobedience and self-will, but also to lead me out of such cases. So that it is by changing my heart that I am freed from all that is listed and many other things that are wrong. If I honor You, Father – so honor all that I have – so be it. If I love You, my Lord, then in spite of all the vanity and laziness of the world, there will be worship in my life. I do not want empty and idle chatter and neglect about You in the same empty vanity. I am your true admirer-accept the praise of my heart!
